The Enfield Eagles were the 27-13 winner over the South Windsor Bobcats when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Enfield fell 28-21 to South Windsor on Saturday.
When it comes to explaining why Enfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zach Bonini. Despite the final result, he rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Bonini is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
South Windsor got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mitch Chaves out in front who threw for 198 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. Logan Sherwood also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Enfield's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for South Windsor, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 8-2 record.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Enfield will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Manchester at 4:30 p.m. on November 22nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Manchester is ranked 37th, while Enfield is ranked 47th). South Windsor will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Maloney at 6:30 p.m. on November 28th.
