Volleyball Recap: Montwood Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Montwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Chapin Huskies by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Montwood might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Chapin scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 17-25, 25-22, 25-21.

Montwood had a senior duo take command as Isabella Meneses had 21 digs and one assist and Raelyn Reyes had 13 digs and one assist. Those 21 digs set a new season-high mark for Meneses.

Gianna Dominguez and Genesis Torres certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Dominguez had 29 digs, while Torres had 16 digs. Jasleen Martinez also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Montwood now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Chapin, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-2.

Montwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Canutillo on the 21st. As for Chapin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Immanuel Christian on the 21st.
