The MacArthur Brahmas will take on the South San Antonio Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
MacArthur is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 16-2 margin over Southside on Tuesday. With that victory, the Brahmas brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Houston Joy and Korey Alston made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Joy tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Alston pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of MacArthur's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 3-5 when he doesn't). At the plate, Joy went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, while Alston scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those three hits gave Joy a new career-high.

In other batting news, Trey Richmond was a standout: he scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Preston Longhurst was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
MacArthur always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, South San Antonio entered their tilt with Taft on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Raiders a 6-0 shutout. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Matthew Reyna made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
In other pitching news, Alex Rodriguez looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Kingston Reyes was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.
South San Antonio's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for MacArthur, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Everything went MacArthur's way against South San Antonio when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as MacArthur made off with an 11-4 win. Does MacArthur have another victory up their sleeve, or will South San Antonio turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
