The Sultana Sultans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 68-46 walloping at the hands of Serrano. Sultana lost against Serrano in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 56-48 score last time.
Several Sultans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Munoz, who scored seven points.
Sultana has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Serrano, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
Sultana will be playing in front of their home fans against Hesperia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hesperia is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Serrano, they will head out on the road to face off against Oak Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Hills is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
