Highland Park had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Lake Forest on Friday. The Giants never let the Scouts get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. Considering the Giants have won five games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Highland Park is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Forest, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the loss, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
