The Belgreen Bulldogs's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Phillips Bears at 6:30 p.m. on December 21st. Belgreen will be strutting in after a win while Phillips will be coming in after a loss.
Belgreen has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Winston County on Tuesday as Belgreen made off with a 60-34 victory. Given Belgreen's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Winston County is ranked 366th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Phillips' recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They took a serious blow against Belgreen, falling 55-19. Phillips has not had much luck with Belgreen recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Belgreen pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Phillips, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Everything came up roses for Belgreen against Phillips when the teams last played last Tuesday as the team secured a 55-19 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Belgreen since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
