Baseball Recap: Dawson Now 13-2 over Last 15 Games

Dawson won the last time they faced Manvel and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles put the hurt on the Mavericks with a sharp 14-2 win. Considering the Eagles have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Garritt Romero made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Maddox Botas was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Jack Dyment, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Dawson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manvel only managed seven hits.

Dawson is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Manvel, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10.

Dawson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mavericks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
