The Overton Mustangs can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They really took it to New Summerfield for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-27 win on the road. With that win, Overton brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Overton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Still, who scored 16 points along with six steals. Still is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Hawkins, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
The win (which was Overton's seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for New Summerfield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.
Coincidentally, Overton and New Summerfield will both be playing Douglass the next time they take the court. New Summerfield will head out to face Douglass at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, while Overton will host them at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
