The Orthopaedic Vipers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 61-37 defeat at the hands of Downtown Magnets. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Orthopaedic in their matchups with Downtown Magnets: they've now lost six in a row.
Downtown Magnets got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Patrick Lei out in front who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Lei is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Martinez, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Orthopaedic's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9. As for Downtown Magnets, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-9.
Orthopaedic will be playing at home against Aspire Ollin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Downtown Magnets, they will head out on the road to take on USC-MAE at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. USC-MAE will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
