The Ross Little Giants were the 51-42 winner over the Anthony Wayne Generals when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Ross took a serious blow against Anthony Wayne on Friday, falling 75-33. While losing is never fun, Ross can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Anthony Wayne is ranked 94th).
Anthony Wayne was led to victory by Leah Pike and Elise Bender. Pike scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds, while Bender scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Bender, who scored 11 points.
Ross now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Anthony Wayne, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ross will square off against Napoleon at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Napoleon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday. As for Anthony Wayne, they will head out on the road to face off against Purcell Marian at 3:20 p.m. on Sunday.
