Mishawaka is 8-2 against Wawasee since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cavemen will welcome the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Mishawaka's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Wawasee has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Mishawaka came out on top against Plymouth on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Cavemen had just enough and edged out the Pilgrims/Rockies 7-6.

Braedyn Smith was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Gage Spychalski was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Shawn Nowacki was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Wawasee fell victim to Warsaw and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.
Wawasee saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Mack, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Mishawaka is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Wawasee, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
Everything went Mishawaka's way against Wawasee in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Mishawaka made off with a 13-3 win. Do the Cavemen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
