The Brooke Point Black Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against North Stafford, falling 57-23. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brooke Point in their matchups with North Stafford: they've now lost eight in a row.
Brooke Point got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Soleil Carolina and
Danayja Cranford, who each put up six points.
Destinee Salgado was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds for North Stafford. Salgado hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Daysha Salgado, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Brooke Point bumped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for North Stafford, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.
Brooke Point won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Stafford at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Stafford comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for North Stafford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverbend at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
