In what's become a running theme this season, the Le Mars Bulldogs gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They really took it to Jefferson for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-22 victory at home. The victory was nothing new for Le Mars as they're now sitting on four straight.
When it comes to explaining why Jefferson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Grace Strong. Despite the final result, she scored ten points along with three steals. That was a full 45.5% of Jefferson's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Le Mars has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Jefferson, their loss was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-16.
Le Mars won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Sioux City West will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 22nd). As for Jefferson, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Bishop Heelan Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
