Pompano Beach's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ella Paterson, who scored 5 points. Another player making a difference was Judaiah Elam, who scored 8 points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Pompano Beach struggled to work together and finished the game with only a assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Nova racked up 15.
Nova was led to victory by Tamiyah Bedford and Jaelynn Housey. Bedford scored 8 points along with 5 steals, while Housey scored 12 points along with 4 steals. The game was Housey's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of J'Yan Tyrell, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Pompano Beach's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Nova, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pompano Beach will take on Monarch at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nova, they will head out on the road to face off against Plantation at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
