Softball Recap: Central Lafourche Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Central Lafourche's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the South Lafourche Tarpons with a sharp 17-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Lanie Eschette was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Kristen Hebert was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Addison Himel was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Central Lafourche always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Central Lafourche pushed their record up to 19-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for South Lafourche, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-23 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Lafourche will square off against Morgan City at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for South Lafourche, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Terrebonne at 5:30 p.m.
