Alexandria City is 0-10 against Lake Braddock since March of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Titans will host the Bruins at 6:30 p.m. Alexandria City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Alexandria City needed a bit of extra time to put away Meridian. They won by a run and slipped past the Mustangs 4-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.
Leah Matthews spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, Paula Nunez was excellent, earning two runs and three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Hannah Steedman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lake Braddock, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They never let Woodson get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Cavaliers: they've now won seven in a row.
The result came thanks to Mac Verdejo's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Radha Samuel, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Eva Dubray, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Lake Braddock pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Alexandria City, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Alexandria City hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Lake Braddock struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Alexandria City might still be hurting after the 10-3 defeat they got from Lake Braddock in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Titans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
