Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wayne County). They never let the Laurel Golden Tornadoes get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the War Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Madison Stokley looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Wayne County let Gracie Swindle and Annah Carr run wild. Swindle went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Carr went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Carr has posted since back in February. Karson Tate was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.
