The Taylor Yellowjackets had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They snuck past Madeira with a 67-63 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Madeira still got an impressive performance from Will Manning, who scored 22 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Manning has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Shafer, who scored 12 points.
Taylor has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for Madeira, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Taylor will head out on the road to square off against Wyoming at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wyoming will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. As for Madeira, they will be playing at home against Reading at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
