Basketball Recap: Redland Christian Academy Drops Season-High Score on Colonial Christian

If Redland Christian Academy was feeling good fresh off their 49-25 takedown of Non Varsity Opponent last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Redland Christian Academy FALCONS fell to the Colonial Christian Patriots 67-61. One positive for the FALCONS, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the defeat, Redland Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Prince Howell, Jr posted 26 points. Schlendi Beauvois was another key player, putting up nine points.

Colonial Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Christian Valino out in front who went 13 of 27 on his way to 31 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Valino has scored at least a third of Colonial Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aristides Espinosa, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds.

Redland Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Colonial Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Redland Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 103-11 defeat against Mater Bay Academy on the 11th. As for Colonial Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
