The Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS's game on Saturday was all tied up 27-27 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 55-43 to Batavia. While losing is never fun, Madeira can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 598th, while Batavia is ranked 284th).
Several MUSTANGS/AMAZONS players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aj Rockwell, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aidan Hopewell, who scored 13 points.
Madeira bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Batavia, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-6.
Madeira and Taylor will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Batavia, they will head out on the road to square off against Clinton-Massie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
