The Omaha R Roadrunners suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were the victim of a tough 67-42 defeat at the hands of Lincoln HomeSchool. While losing is never fun, Omaha R can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Lincoln HomeSchool is ranked 56th).
Omaha R's loss came despite strong showings from Jack Vankat and Anthony Black. Vankat scored 18 points, while Black scored seven points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vankat has scored all season.
Omaha R has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Lincoln HomeSchool, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
Omaha R does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lincoln HomeSchool will square off against Texas Lions HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Texas Lions HomeSchool knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Lincoln HomeSchool likes a good challenge.
