Hillcrest was the  62-53 winner over West Plains when they last played one another  back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hillcrest Hornets fell  58-51 to the West Plains Zizzers on Monday.
 It was another big night for  Shaylee Peterson, who  to rack up 19  points and eight  rebounds for West Plains. Peterson's evening made it four games in a row in which  she has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was  Gillian Green, who  posted eight points along with 12  boards and three  steals.
Hillcrest's  loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 17-7. As for West Plains, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record  this season.
 Hillcrest will square off against McDonald County at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. West Plains does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
