Keystone has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Moniteau Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Keystone had to suffer through a rough 50-13 loss at the hands of Port Allegany. Keystone was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-7.
Although Keystone took the loss, they still got scores from Drew Keth and Eli Nellis.
Meanwhile, Moniteau's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 36-0 defeat at the hands of DuBois. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Keystone's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Moniteau, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Keystone has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 191.7 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Moniteau, though, as they've been averaging only 84.4 per game. How will Moniteau fare against such a dominant running game?
Everything came up roses for Keystone against Moniteau in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 57-12 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Moniteau's Hunter Stalker, who rushed for 226 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Keystone to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
