Basketball Game Preview: Kent Denver Sun Devils vs. Colorado Academy Mustangs

The Kent Denver Sun Devils will face off against the Colorado Academy Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Kent Denver's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Kent Denver humbled Stargate School with an 87-51 victory. The Sun Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Caleb Fay was his usual excellent self, going 8 of 16 en route to 20 points in addition to eight boards and seven steals. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elvis Lloyd, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Kent Denver was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stargate School only racked up 13 assists.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Colorado Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-47 win over Dakota Ridge. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since January 25, 2024.

Kent Denver is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 43.7 points. As for Colorado Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Kent Denver was able to grind out a solid victory over Colorado Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 68-56. Does Kent Denver have another victory up their sleeve, or will Colorado Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
