The Ayersville Pilots will head out to challenge the Ottoville Big Green at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Ayersville and Wayne Trace have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Pilots fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 3-2. While the Pilots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Raiders 25-17 in the first set.
Ayersville took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-11, 20-25, 26-24, 15-12.

Despite the loss, Ayersville got top-tier performance from Makayla Sierra, who had 38 digs and three assists. Sierra has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Sigler, who had 16 assists and ten digs.
Ottoville not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 11th (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Continental as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Big Green.
Ottoville not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Continental between 15 and 16 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-15, 25-16.
Ottoville's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Ayersville, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 14-8.
Ayersville was able to grind out a solid win over Ottoville when the teams last played back in August, winning 3-1. Will the Pilots repeat their success, or do the Big Green have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
