The Heard County Braves fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Mt. Zion 42-13 at home. The result was nothing new for Heard County, who have now won three games by 29 points or more so far this season.
Heard County found their leader in underclassman Ethan Tisdale, who threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Buc cofield, who picked up 57 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Mt. Zion still got an impressive performance from Sherrod Montgomery jr, who rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.
Heard County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. As for Mt. Zion, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Heard County will be playing in front of their home fans against Temple at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mt. Zion, they will head out on the road to face off against Christian Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
