Basketball Recap: Seven Oaks Classical Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Tabernacle Christian came into Monday's contest looking for another win against Seven Oaks Classical, but Macy Bush wouldn't allow it. The Seven Oaks Classical Firehawks walked away with a 46-39 victory over the Tabernacle Christian Eagles on Monday thanks in part to Bush, who almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played.

Olivia Easton was another key player, putting up seven points and five steals. She has become a key player for Seven Oaks Classical: the team is 8-3 when she posts at least five steals, but 1-2 otherwise.

Despite the loss, Tabernacle Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Liz Southerland posted 19 points. That was a full 48.7% of Tabernacle Christian's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmyne Chilcote, who earned six points.

Seven Oaks Classical has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Tabernacle Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Seven Oaks Classical has already played their next game, a 62-5 win against Suburban Christian on the 16th. As for Tabernacle Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-13 victory against Indiana Christian Academy on the 17th.
