The Peebles Indians stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 58-30 victory over West Union on the road. The victory was nothing new for Peebles as they're now sitting on 11 straight.
Payton Johnson was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 28 points, 13 rebounds, and nine steals. Johnson is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Caydence Carroll was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, West Union had strong showings from Ashlah Staten, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Olivia Lewis, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Staten has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Peebles' win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for West Union, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Peebles will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Tigers at 1:30 p.m. McClain will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 355th, while the Indians are ranked 102nd). As for West Union, they will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bethel-Tate is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
