The Life Christian Academy Lions will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Rocket City Falcons at 6:00 p.m.
Life Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss yet this season two weeks ago. They were dealt a 60-32 loss at the hands of East Central HomeSchool. While losing is never fun, Life Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while East Central HomeSchool is ranked 88th).
Meanwhile, Rocket City stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. Everything went their way against Bluegrass as Rocket City made off with a 48-25 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Rocket City has posted since November 7, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rocket City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elizabeth ( Bess ) Shea, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Shea has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. MacKenzie Baker was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Life Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Rocket City, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
Life Christian Academy came up short against Rocket City in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, falling 49-36. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Baker, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 12 rebounds.
