The Falcon Falcons have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 75-74 to Harrison. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eric Graham, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Christian Bertholf, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harrison to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenneth Jones jr, who scored 32 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Jones jr has scored at least a third of Harrison's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayten Franko, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds.
Falcon has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-6 record this season. As for Harrison, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Falcon will take on Elizabeth at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Falcon is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Colorado (they are ranked 98th, while Elizabeth is ranked 259th). As for Harrison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Widefield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Harrison's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
