It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-24, which was the final score in St. Catherine's tilt against Steward last Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Catherine's has scored all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Saint Gertrude's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were dealt a 73-32 loss at the hands of Northside Christian Academy. Saint Gertrude was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-18.
St. Catherine's has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Saint Gertrude, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
St. Catherine's didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Saint Gertrude in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 50-45 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Catherine's since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
