Memorial Day has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Twiggs Academy Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial Day will be strutting in after a win while Twiggs Academy will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Memorial Day beat Robert Toombs Christian Academy 50-45.
Meanwhile, Twiggs Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 94-65 defeat at the hands of First Preparatory Christian Academy. That's two games in a row now that Twiggs Academy has lost by exactly 29 points.
Despite the loss, Twiggs Academy had strong showings from Josh Nobles, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 rebounds, and Jacob Smith, who scored 27 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season.
The win got Memorial Day back to even at 5-5. As for Twiggs Academy, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-13.
Everything came up roses for Memorial Day against Twiggs Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 83-17 victory. Will Memorial Day repeat their success, or does Twiggs Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
