Regina has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Marian Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Regina will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 289th, while Marian is ranked 122nd).
Last Wednesday, Regina came up short against Gabriel Richard and fell 40-28. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Regina has scored all season.
Marian posted their biggest victory yet this season on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 47-22 margin over Divine Child. The victory was just what Marian needed coming off of a 63-15 defeat in their prior contest.
Mckenzie Swanson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Molly McLeod, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Regina bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Marian, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Regina came up short against Marian when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 55-49. Can Regina avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
