Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Tempe's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Maryvale, Tempe was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Coronado Dons with a sharp 19-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Buffaloes, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Celeste Alvarez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Hilana Valencia, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.

Tempe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .871. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Tempe has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Coronado, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Tempe will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
