Make it seven blowout wins for the Bear Grass Charter Bears this season. They breezed by Ocracoke on the road to the tune of 65-9 on Friday. While fans of Bear Grass Charter might be used to big wins, the 56-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Leading Bear Grass Charter to victory were Aubrey Dotson and Hylee (Al) Jarrett. Dotson scored 12 points, while Jarrett scored 13 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Harrell, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Bear Grass Charter is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Ocracoke, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Bear Grass Charter will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Hobgood Charter is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Ocracoke, they will head out on the road to challenge the Hurricanes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
