Lehman gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Akins Eagles, sneaking past 8-6. The Lobos haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Darren Roberson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Richard Saldana, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Akins dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lehman is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will challenge Hendrickson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
