Baseball Recap: Elmwood Takes Down Marion Local in a Playoff Battle

Elmwood extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Marion Local. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Flyers an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Royals, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Marion Local's batters probably weren't too happy with Landon Snow, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up seven walks).

On the hitting side, Colton Bradford was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May. Zackery Gross was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Elmwood pushed their record up to 21-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Marion Local, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-8.

As of now, neither Elmwood nor the Flyers have any future games scheduled.
