The Milpitas Trojans will challenge the Los Altos Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Milpitas will be strutting in after a victory while Los Altos will be coming in after a defeat.
Milpitas took an 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Homestead, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trojans never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 2-0 win last Friday.
The result came thanks to Dominique Walker's shutout, as she gave up just two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Milpitas saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miya Balangue, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Los Altos lost 11-3 to Los Gatos on Friday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Makayla Mase and Sabrina Neal stepped up to the plate in a big way. Mase went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Neal went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Milpitas now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Los Altos, they now have a losing record of 8-9-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Milpitas has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Los Altos struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Milpitas was able to grind out a solid victory over Los Altos in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 12-9. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
