Ahoskie Christian came tearing into Friday's matchup with 17 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Heritage Christian Academy with a sharp 63-40 win. Ahoskie Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 23 points or more this season.
Morgan Wadsworth continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Ahoskie Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Carly Piland, who scored ten points.
Heritage Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Rebekah Tucker, who scored 16 points, and Cheyenne Anderson who scored 13 points.
Ahoskie Christian's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.1 points per game. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Ahoskie Christian will head out on the road to take on Terra Ceia Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Terra Ceia Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while Ahoskie Christian is ranked 131st). As for Heritage Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount Calvary Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Mount Calvary Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
