Basketball Recap: Linton-Stockton Skates Past Clay City with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Linton-Stockton). They breezed by the Clay City Eels to the tune of 65-23 on Thursday. With the Miners ahead 46-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Clay City lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jenna Hofmann, who posted three points. What's more, Hofmann also racked up three rebounds, the most she's had since back in November of 2023. Another player making a difference was Emily Swearingen, who had three points.

Linton-Stockton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Clay City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Linton-Stockton will head out to face off against Owen Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, Clay City and Loogootee will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 1:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
