Basketball Recap: Larchmont Charter Skates Past Animo South Los Angeles with Ease

Larchmont Charter had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 46-point drubbing they dealt Animo South Los Angeles on Friday. The Larchmont Charter Timberwolves breezed by the Animo South Los Angeles Panthers to the tune of 75-29. The game marked the Timberwolves' most dominant win of the season so far.

Larchmont Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonathan Callahan-Rives, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cypress Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Larchmont Charter was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Animo South Los Angeles, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

After both having extra time off, Larchmont Charter and New West Charter will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another on January 8, 2025. New West Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Larchmont Charter likes a good challenge. As for Animo South Los Angeles, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while.
