It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Marcellus had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They never let the Michigan Lutheran Titans get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 13 contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
The win was the fifth in a row for Marcellus, bringing their record up to 19-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Michigan Lutheran, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 16-21.
Looking ahead, Marcellus will face off against White Pigeon on Wednesday. Michigan Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
