The Louisa County Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 69-44 defeat at the hands of Western Albemarle. While losing is never fun, Louisa County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while Western Albemarle is ranked 89th).
Despite the loss, Louisa County had strong showings from Peyton Brady, who scored 14 points along with two steals, and Taylor Yeatts, who scored 16 points. Brady has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
Louisa County dropped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Western Albemarle, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
Louisa County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Albemarle at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Western Albemarle, they will head out on the road to challenge Monticello at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
