Mammoth is 8-2 against Trona since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Mammoth Huskies will look to defend their home court against the Trona Tornadoes at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Mammoth is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Trona in California (Mammoth is ranked 167th, while Trona is ranked 964th).
Mammoth entered their tilt with Sierra Lutheran with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Mammoth took down Sierra Lutheran 69-53 on Saturday.
Mammoth's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Jones, who almost dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists. The game was Jones' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Forest Daniels, who scored 24 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 77-23, which was the final score in Trona's tilt against Mammoth on Tuesday. Trona has not had much luck with Mammoth recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 3-0 season records intact.
