After a string of three wins, the Alturas Prep Pumas's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sho-Ban. Alturas Prep lost against Sho-Ban in their previous head to head last Thursday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-50 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Alturas Prep lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kiearon Marshall. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 34 points and 16 rebounds. The contest was Marshall's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Simon Karroum, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds.
Alturas Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Sho-Ban, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Alturas Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face Challis at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Challis is ranked 97th, while Alturas Prep is ranked 114th). Sho-Ban will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Murtaugh at 7:00 p.m. on December 29th.
