The Piscataway Vo-Tech Raiders had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They skirted past Metuchen 44-42. For Piscataway Vo-Tech, this counts as revenge for the 54-27 defeat Metuchen walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Metuchen's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Woods, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Smith, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Piscataway Vo-Tech's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Metuchen, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
Piscataway Vo-Tech will square off against Piscataway at TBD on Tuesday. Piscataway is coming into the game with five straight defeats on the road, so Piscataway Vo-Tech is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Metuchen, they will take on J.P. Stevens at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Metuchen is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.
