Volleyball Recap: Evergreen Park Find Success

Evergreen Park won the last time they faced Thornton Fractional North and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mustangs came out on top against the Meteors by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Evergreen Park easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-5.

Evergreen Park can attribute much of their success to Tess Lee, who had five digs and three aces. That's the most aces Lee has posted over her last nine matches. Brenna Hayes also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Evergreen Park was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They are a perfect 3-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Evergreen Park's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Thornton Fractional North, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Evergreen Park is set to face off against their familiar foe Hillcrest at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Thornton Fractional North will square off against rival Oak Lawn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
