The Knippa Crushers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their tenth straight loss. They took a 41-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of D'Hanis. Knippa was down 33-13 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
D'Hanis' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylee Thompson, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Thompson is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kami Johnson, who scored eight points along with eight steals.
Knippa dropped their record down to 1-15 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.3 points per game. As for D'Hanis, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-9.
Knippa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. D'Hanis will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
