The DePaul College Prep Rams will square off against the Amundsen Vikings at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
DePaul College Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Northtown get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. That looming 17-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rams yet this season.

Gavin Variano looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April.
At the plate, Dylan Hecht was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since May 4th. Nolan Hecht was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
DePaul College Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Amundsen waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Falcons as they made off with a 12-2 win. The Vikings not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 16-1).
Ben Weihing looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Pierce Bakker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Amundsen: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 8-21-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Bennett Newman, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
DePaul College Prep's victory bumped their record up to 23-12. As for Amundsen, their win bumped their record up to 12-22-1.
DePaul College Prep came out on top in a nail-biter against Amundsen when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 7-5. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
