This season hasn't been kind to the Villanova Prep Wildcats, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They took a serious blow against Hueneme on Saturday, falling 49-22. Villanova Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hueneme apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Leading Hueneme to victory were Jacob Cunningham and Chris Juanillo. Cunningham scored 10 points, while Juanillo scored 13 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Juanillo has scored at least 25% of Hueneme's points. Ignatio Saavedra was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Villanova Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hueneme, their win bumped their record up to 1-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Villanova Prep will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Newbury Park Adventist at 5:00 p.m. on December 14th. As for Hueneme, they will take on Nordhoff at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nordhoff is on a six-game streak of home losses, Hueneme a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
